What makes a great private equity website? Q&A with Alice Gibb, Comms Director at Warburg Pincus

What does it take to make a private equity website project a success? We caught up with Alice Gibb, Comms Director at Warburg Pincus Europe to hear about her experience, the lessons she learned along the way, and her advice for firms embarking on a website project of their own.

What was your main objective for the website, and do you feel the new site delivered on it?

Our main objective was to strengthen and localise our digital presence in Europe, giving the region its own dedicated microsite that could sit alongside the global site without diluting the brand. We wanted to communicate our commitment to Europe, profile our regional portfolio and team, share our long-term growth-oriented investment approach, and create an asset we could use across events, marketing, investor materials and recruitment. The site has delivered on this well – it’s become an important platform for engaging investors, portfolio companies, prospective talent, media and other stakeholders, and has exceeded our expectations.

What did you feel went well with the project, and is there anything you would have done differently?

Radstone truly understood our business, and that showed in the balance they struck between global brand consistency and a distinct European identity. Their attention to detail and thoughtful layout gave real focus to our portfolio, and the bespoke photography of our team added a level of authenticity that stock imagery never could, working hand-in-hand with the culture carousel to put our people front and centre. The 60th anniversary splash page was another nice detail, giving us a high-impact, memorable entry point to the site, and reinforcing the connection to the global brand.

What words of advice would you give to another Private Equity firm looking to develop their website?

Think carefully about the different audiences you’re serving – LPs, portfolio companies, talent, media and partners all want different things, and your site needs to work for all of them without feeling diluted. Don’t be afraid to evolve your brand rather than overhaul it; reinterpreting familiar elements can feel more premium than starting from scratch. And invest in the details – thoughtful layout, bespoke photography and elegant, dynamic interactions all help a site feel credible and current.

What feedback have you had on the site so far, both internally and externally?

The reaction has been very positive. Many colleagues – in the European team and beyond – have noted how the site gives a much clearer articulation of our European strategy: how we invest, the sectors we focus on, and how we partner with management teams, alongside a fuller picture of our team and ambition in the region. Externally, we’ve had positive comments from a range of stakeholders, including portfolio company CEOs, advisors, journalists, our trade body and peers at other firms. We’ve also seen strong engagement through our paid media campaign and on LinkedIn, both of which link back to the site, so it’s reaching a far greater audience than before.

Finally, if you could describe what it’s like to work with Radstone in 3 words, what would they be?

Thoughtful, meticulous, creative.
